Philips could surprise everyone by launching two new cellphones that seem to be better than what was expected. The most recent models revealed are the X806 and the C702, but it could be a while before it reaches the Western markets, as for now, they’re going to be launched mainly in China.
The X806 model has these specifications:
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS
- 3.5″ touchscreen display
- 5 megapixel photocamera
- Bluetooth
- FM radio
- 47MB internal memory, expandable with microSD cardsWhile the C702 features:
- CDMA 1x connection
- 3.4″ touchscreen display
- 1.3 Megapixel photocamera
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- 70MB internal memory, expandable with microSD cards.Details on price and availability aren’t yet known.

Philips adds a new slidephone to the Xenium family: the X650. The cellphone measures 104,5 x 52 x 16.75mm and weighs 134 grams. The display is 2.4″ wide with the resolution of 240×320 pixels and viewing more than 260.000 colors. The photocamera has the resolution of 3.2 Megapixels with autofocus.
The connectivity is only done with the GPRS protocol and the internal memory (30MB) can be expanded with microSD cards. The battery guarantees 1 month in standby or 8 hours in conversation mode. Price and availability not yet announced.

It seems hard to believe that any phone would offer more than a month duration on its battery, but Philips has managed to do so with their Xenium X630. Thanks to the 1530 mAh battery, it guarantees 50 days in standby or 12 hours in conversation.
The phone measures 111.8 x 48.9 x 15.1mm and weighs 118 grams, with a 2.4″ display that has the resolution of 240×320 and views more than 260.000 colors. The photocamera has the resolution of 3.2 Megapixels it supports memory expansion through microSDHC. Also included are the FM radio, multimedia player and bluetooth.
The price hasn’t yet been announced.

Philips continues to manufacture entry-level devices. In fact, the company has launched two new cellphones: C600 and W186, both with candybar design.
The C600 manages both GSM and CDMA networks. The 2.4″ display has a resolution of 240×320 pixels, while the photocamera has the resolution of 1.3 Megapixels. Also present are the mp3 players and the 2.5MB internal memory expandable through microSD cards.
The W186 has a 2″ display with the resolution of 176×220 pixels, and the photocamera has the resolution of 2 Megapixels. The internal memory features 150MB and it’s expandable through microSD cards. This model also features the HSDPA connectivity and FM radio.
Price and availability haven’t yet been announced.

Philips seems to be aiming beyond the entry-level market with the new Xenium X830. It’s a device that measures 105 x 53 x 15.5 mm and weighs 120 grams, with a touchscreen display with the resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and viewing more than 260.000 colors. The photocamera has the resolution of 5 Megapixels and LED flash. It’s perhaps the first time that Philips use such a high megapixel sensor.
The connectivity is done through the EDGE protocol, and the 47MB internal memory can be expanded through microSDHD cards. Integrated GPS, Wi-Fi, FM radio and bluetooth are also included. Price and availability haven’t yet been determined.

The touchscreen display has a resolution of 240×400 and views more than 260.000 colors. The photocamera has the resolution of 3.2 Megapixel and Flash.
The data connection is done through the EDGE protocol, and the internal 45MB memory is expandable through microSDHC cards. Also featured are the multimedia player, bluetooth and the long-lasting battery. Price and availability haven’t been announced.

A new mid-entry device from Phillips is going to be launched soon. It’s a clamshell cellphone called Xenium X700, measuring 103 x 54 x 15mm and weighing 110 grams. It features two displays, an external 2″ screen and a 2.4″ internal display with a 240×320 pixels resolution and viewing up to 260.000 colors. The photocamera has the resolution of 3.2 Megapixels.
The data transferring is done through EDGE, and it has a 47MB internal memory, expandable through microSD cards. It also features an FM radio, multimedia player and bluetooth.

This time it’s Phillips’ turn to launch a new clamshel model. The X530 measures 99,1 x 47,1 x 18mm and features two displays: the internal one is 2.2″ wide and has a 240×320 pixel resolution, viewing more than 260.000 colors. The external one is 1″ wide and features the OLED technology. The photocamera has the resolution of 2 Megapixel.
It’s a model aimed for the entry-level market range, and its connectivity is guaranteed by the EDGE protocol. Also featured are the multimedia player, FM radio and bluetooth. Price and availability haven’t yet been announced.
