During last week’s announcement during the MWC 2010, when Steve Ballmer officially presented the Windows Phone 7 Series platform, he also said that the first Windows Phone 7 series phone will be available by Christmas this year.
Apparently, the first device featuring Microsoft’s new mobile platform could indeed be launched in September this year, according to an information obtained by Engadget China, from someone inside the LG Mobile in Hong Kong. This rumor would actually match the one that claimed that LG would be launching a Windows Phone 7 Series mobile called Apollo.
We’ll have to wait and see.

LG takes the opportunity at the CES 2010 to present a new Android-based smartphone, the LG GT540 Swift. It’s the third generation of Android smartphones from LG that will also be shown at the Mobile World Congress.
For now it’s known that the GT540 Swift has a 3 Megapixel photocamera, a touchscreen display, Android 1.5 with a few modifications to the icons, typical of the LG phones. The device will also be compatible with DivX and WMV movie files, it’ll allow users to change the song by shaking the phone and the internal memory will be expandable to 32 GB with microSDHC cards. As the video above shows, the design is compact and rather pleasant to the eyes.

LG seems to be hooked on one thing that has been hooking many cellphone companies lately: Android. The OS is definitely overwhelming the mobile telephony market thanks to its versatility and the freedom that it gives to the manufacturers to create applications and change the interface.
In LG’s case, they’ve launched their first Android device a few months ago, the LG GW620 and now there are rumors of a second device with Android and a hardware “surprise”. This new device, still without a name, will be first available for the Korean market, and then later on distributed in the rest of the world.
The big surprise on this device, that is rumored to be launched around the second quarter of 2010, is a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1GHz. The device might also allow users to watch TV from their phone.
