After so many rumors, we can confirm that the Nexus One actually exists and was launched. Google’s phone, however, is only available in the USA for now, and it’ll be available in Europe soon, but only in the UK. The design is not the most modern out there, and it’s very classic, but behind it, we can find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM. The internal memory features 512 MB and expandable with microSD cards.
The Nexus One seems to be the first of a long series of Google smartphones. It obviously features the OS Android 2.1, a 3.7″ AMOLED display, touchscreen and with the resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The photocamera has 5 Megapixels and LED flash. It also features the A-GPS, accelerometer, distance sensor, stereo bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The price for now is $179 in the US with a two-year contract, or $529 without any contract. It is only been sold online with Google Checkout and it should cost around €450 in Europe.

Are you waiting for Google’s Nexus One? As it’s probably already known, it’ll be launched on January 5th (that is, tomorrow), but as the launch goes, rumors say you will have to make sure to have an invitation in order to buy it. The Google Phone will, in fact, not be present on stores: it’ll be only sold online and to those who have received an email invitation. Experienced with the invitation system (that had been used with Gmail with large success), Google must think that doing the same for a smartphone that is manufactured in small quantities and won’t be available to everyone can assure its success.
Although the specialized press says there’s nothing extraordinary about the Nexus One. The device is similar to many phones already on the market and has nothing new to offer. But there will certainly be those who will not pass on the opportunity to have a smartphone that can only be bought through invitations.

It seems Google has scheduled a big event on January 5th, probably to launch their new Android cellphone, Nexus One? We’ll have to wait and see, but in the meantime, the guys from engadget managed to get their hands on an image that seems to display the prices for the new touchscreen from Google. The prices are, in any case, for the American market and the T-Mobile carrier.
There are two options: one without a contract, that would cost $529,99 (around €369 euros) and the other with a two-year contract for the price of $179,99 (€125), with monthly rates of $79.99 for 500 minutes of conversation, messages and internet navigation. The page also shows two accessories: a table dock for $39.99 and a car dock for $49.99. We’ll have to wait and see until the launch to confirm these prices.

After denying its existence for too long, now Google has decided to admit that the Nexus One actually exists. In a post on their own mobile technologies’ blog, Google has admitted that many of the company’s employees are using a new phone concept in order to test it and figure out good and bad points.
Nothing more is said on the blog, but the internet is quick and the first image for the device has already appeared in a non-official way. The device should be manufactured by HTC and its design is very similar to the HTC Passion.
Now we just have to wait for Google to give more information on the phone.
