During the Mobile World Congress 2010, Microsoft presented their new Windows Phone 7 Series, and showed a small demo of the new OS in a device manufactured by Asus. But it wasn’t really specified whether that smartphone will be sold in the future or not.
Would the smartphone currently being “perfectioned” by Asus be the Microsoft phone, something similar to what Nexus One did with Google and HTC? According to Ashok Kumar, the analyst who had the first details about the Google Nexus One, Asus and Microsoft have found some difficulties during the manufacturing of the Microsoft smartphone, but it is a possibility.
The Microsoft-Asus device could be launched in 2011, obviously featuring Windows Phone 7 Series. But before this can happen, if it will happen at all, the Windows Phone 7 Series will be featured in devices manufactured by HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson and Toshiba.

Acer will present their second phone based on the Android platform soon. The new model should arrive on the market during the first half of this year. It was Jim Wong, Acer’s IT Division’s president, to announce the news.
Obviously no further information was released. We don’t know how it will be called, or even the basic technical specifications. Of course, we’ll have to wait.

Acer has officially announced the Liquid model, full touchscreen with Android. Many rumors have been read about this device for months, and now we can finally give some official information: according to what was announced, the Acer Liquid should be the most powerful Android device in the market.
However, Acer hasn’t released any official image of the cellphone, although the technical specifications were very clear: The Acer Liquid will have a Qualcomm 8250 Snapdragon 1Ghz CPU, the same used on the HTC HD2, Toshiba TG01 and the Acer neoTouch S200. The Android version will be the 1.6 (Donut) and it’ll feature a home-brew Acer UI pre-installed. The Acer Liquid will be the first Android cellphone to have a 3.5″ WVGA display.
It will also have the quad-band GSM support, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connection, HSUPA, Wi-Fi and GPS. It hasn’t been said clearly, but it’s likely it’ll also feature a 5 Megapixel photocamera, FM radio, slot for microSD and Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Now all we have to do is wait for official images and the price.

Acer has presented a new smartphone with Windows Mobile 6.5, called L1. The technical specifications are still unknown, the only thing we do have is a video of this new model, which features, besides Microsoft’s Operational System, a large touchscreen display and a slide keyboard. It seems to be aimed at the medium-low market range, and there’s no launch date yet, but it’s probable that it’ll be launched during this year.

Acer has launched a new smartphone: The Acer Tempo X960. This mdoel has a 2.8″ VGA screen and features HSDPA connectivity, 533 MHz processor, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of ROM, 3.2 Megapixel photocamera and the SirfStar 3 GPS module.
In order to take advantage of the wonderful display resolution, Acer has thought of a new widget interface that simulates a virtual desk, instead of the classic interface from Windows Mobile 6.1.

It’s nothing but rumors at the moment, so we’re labeling it as that, but it seems that Acer will launch their A1 on September, featuring Android. It’s not sure whether the new model will have the same look at the Acer C1 (the one in the picture), but sources indicate so.
In the meantime, the official sources (both Acer and Google) prefer to release a “no-comment” statement. We’ll be tuned for more information.

As an answer to HTC’s Touch Pro II, Acer has prepared the M900, a smartphone with touchscreen display and a lateral slide QWERTY keyboard. Amongst its features, a fingerprint sensor, 5.0 megapixel photocamera with flash and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Aimed for the business market, the M900 catches the attention from the start with its 3.8″ display with 800×480 pixels resolution. Despite being larger, it’s still slimmer than the Touch Pro 2 and it also features the Windows Mobile 6.1, although it’s compatible with the newest version of the OS, the 6.5. The processor works at a 533 Mhz frequency and its touchscreen interface is made by Asus. The rest of the features are the 128MB RAM (which could be a little more, in our opinion), a 256MB microSD card and a 1530 mAh battery.
Also featuring Wi-Fi, GPS SiRFstar III, HSDPA, bluetooth 2.0 and orientation sensor. Below are some images of the M900. Enjoy!
