Two big Japanese Mobile companies, Fujitsu and Toshiba, will apparently unite forces to create mobile phones together. According to Nikkei, the negotiations would have already reached their final stage.

If the joint venture will be successful, it will give room to the second biggest mobile manufacturer in Japan, behind Sharp. The reasons for this fusion seems to be economical: the success of “foreign” smartphones in Japan keeps on forcing local companies to come up with new strategies before it’s “too late”.

The union between Fujitsu and Toshiba should reduce costs and close a competitive gap with other companies. It seems also that a possible plan to expand to other countries isn’t discarded either.
