Sony to enter competition against Apple with a PSP Phone?
People have been expecting Sony Ericsson to launch something similar to a PSP Phone for a while, but the rumors were always brought down, much to some fans’ disappointment. But today, another rumor comes to the list of rumors seen in the past, and it seems that it’s Sony to take the initiative this time.
Indeed, the creators of the PlayStation seem to be bothered with Apple’s hegemony in the portable devices sector and would be developing a smartphone that would be connected to an Online Service (Sony Online Service, which should be similar to the iTunes), where users could download songs and PlayStation games.
Despite the Sony brand, the device will be built by Sony Ericsson, even though the OS is still unknown. Sony also seems to be planning to make a tablet that would be a “netbook, an e-reader and a PlayStation portable” all in one, in order to compete with Apple’s iPad and other devices.
