    Microsoft has officially announced that they’ll present the Windows Mobile 7 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which will take place from February 15th to 18th. Peter clain has confirmed and made the news official, and he also speaks of a revolutionary OS.

    We already know that it’ll have integration with Zune, multi-touch, and according to some rumors, also a system integration with XBox Live, Facebook and Twitter. And now the list of the minimum technical specifications for a smartphone to feature WM7 is bigger: rumors say Wi-Fi and GPS are now added to the list.

    At this point, all we can do is wait for the presentation at the MWC, and see if the new Microsoft mobile OS is capable of competing with Android and all others.

    Another image for the HTC Bravo smartphone: it’s a hands-on image, that shows the user interface for the new HTC device. The HTC Bravo seems to be very similar to the Google Nexus One, even though it has more keys and an optical trackpad instead of the trackball.

    The HTC Bravo also features a 3.7″ AMOLED WVGA multi-touch screen, 3G Connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, 512 MB RAM, 5 Megapixel photocamera with HD video recording, Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz processor and the Android 2.1 OS.

    Acer will present their second phone based on the Android platform soon. The new model should arrive on the market during the first half of this year. It was Jim Wong, Acer’s IT Division’s president, to announce the news.

    Obviously no further information was released. We don’t know how it will be called, or even the basic technical specifications. Of course, we’ll have to wait.

    Do you all remember the Sony Ericsson Kurara U5? Well, forget that name, as from now on, it’s called Sony Ericsson Vivaz. It was officially announced by Sony yesterday, and the Vivaz doesn’t look any different from what had been seen when it was called Kurara U5.

    THe smartphone has Symbian as its OS, a WVGA touchscreen display, HSDPA module, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3.5mm jack, common features on the high-level smartphones. But the Vivaz has also a 8.1 Megapixel photocamera with autofocus and LED flash, capable of recording HD videos in the 720p format.

    The Vivaz will be available in four colors: Cosmic Black, Silver Moon, Venus Ruby and Galaxy Blue. After the post, some pictures and a product tour video. Enjoy!

    As it commonly happens on the mobile phone world, the LG GW620, the first LG model featuring Android, changes name. It’s now called LG InTouch Max GW620 and it was launched last Tuesday in England, opening the official launch in Europe. The technical specifications are also available, including a physical QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen display and Linkbook, an application that puts all social networks together.

    As for the rest of software specifications, the phone features a automatic tag on pictures and the Face-to-Action that allows users to contact their friends (through call, SMS, MMS or social network message) by simply touching their face in a picture. The hardware also has a 5 Megapixel photocamera, 3″ touchscreen display with the resolution of 480×320 pixels, HSDPA connectivity, microSD support, 3.5mm jack, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 1500 mAh battery.

    Gigabyte has been trying to get a space in the smartphone market, and in order to compete with the rest, they’ve launched the first smartphone featuring Android. The device measures 103 x 54 x 13.4 mm and has a 2.6″ touchscreen display with the resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The photocamera has the resolution of 2 Megapixels.

    The smartphone is made for the medium-low market, supports EDGE and Wi-Fi connectivity. The internal memory features 512 MB and is expandable with microSD cards. Also featured are the accelerometer and the GPS. The availability is set for next month for the price of €212.

    Samsung has announced the arrival of the Samsung Shark line, featuring a very modern design that cannot be mistaken. The first model on the line is the Samsung S5350, a very slim and ergonomic cellphone that has its high point on the social networking applications.

    Facebook, MySpace and Bebo are directly accessible from the initial screen, and inside, we can find other applications such as Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket and Youtube. The cellphone measures 115.2 x 46.7 x 14 mm and weighs 92g, features HSDPA connectivity, a 2.2″ display and a 3.2 Megapixel photocamera. Also featured are the FM radio, Bluetooth 2.1, 100 MB of internal memory, expandable up to 16 MB with microSD cards and a 900 mAh battery.

    If you are curious about the LePhone, the newest smartphone from Lenovo, here’s a video showing it in action, directly from the CES in Las Vegas.

    The technical specifications: 3.7″ AMOLED touchscreen display with the resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 3 Megapixel photocamera, Snapdragon 1GHz processor, Android OS, expandable internal memory with microSD cards, GPS and WiFi. Price and availability haven’t yet been announced.

    It seems that Sony Ericsson is really willing to give people something to talk about, especially since the company hasn’t been in their best of moments lately. First the Kanna, then now other leaked images show the Robyn, a miniature version of the Android X10 smartphone.

    The device takes most of the features on the X10, except for the smaller size, and it should have a few different colors. The few specifications known speak about a 5 megapixel photocamera with autofocus, touchscreen, USB connector, HSPA and WLAN.

    We’ll have to wait for the Mobile World Congress to know more.

    It was almost sure that the Samsung i899 was going to be a device featuring Windows Mobile, but Samsung has instead officially confirmed that the model will be an Android smartphone. The news come directly from Samsung’s official Chinese site.

    The technical specifications for the i899 are: CDMA/Ev-DO device with an 3.2″ touchscreen AMOLED display with the resoliution of 320 x 480 pixels, GPS, 3.5mm Jack and WiFi/WAPI connectivity. It also features a 3.2 Megapixel camera with flash and autofocus, and an internal memory of 512 MB, expandable with microSD cards up to 32 GB.

    The availability is initially only in China, and no word yet whether the device will be available elsewhere.
