It seems Google has scheduled a big event on January 5th, probably to launch their new Android cellphone, Nexus One? We’ll have to wait and see, but in the meantime, the guys from engadget managed to get their hands on an image that seems to display the prices for the new touchscreen from Google. The prices are, in any case, for the American market and the T-Mobile carrier.
There are two options: one without a contract, that would cost $529,99 (around €369 euros) and the other with a two-year contract for the price of $179,99 (€125), with monthly rates of $79.99 for 500 minutes of conversation, messages and internet navigation. The page also shows two accessories: a table dock for $39.99 and a car dock for $49.99. We’ll have to wait and see until the launch to confirm these prices.

There’s a small market that usually isn’t seen in the mobile phone world: those of the cheaper models. One of the manufacturers that keeps on developing new models for that market range is Samsung, and they bring forward their new Stunt R100.
It’s a cellphone with a candybar device, a 1.7″ display with the resolution of 128 x 160 pixels, with a very simple graphic interface and no photocamera. The price has not been revealed yet, but due to the phone’s very basic specifications, it should be quite cheap.

After launching the Elm model, Sony Ericsson presents another GreenHeart model. The device is called Hazel, and it has a legerly curvy design and a slide mechanism; it was built taking into consideration the recent ecosystem-friendly rules for the company, with recycled materials, small package and low-energy battery chargers.
There’s not much else known about the technical specifications, however. The display is a 2.6″ with the resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, and the availability has been set for the second trimester of next year for a yet unknown price.

After denying its existence for too long, now Google has decided to admit that the Nexus One actually exists. In a post on their own mobile technologies’ blog, Google has admitted that many of the company’s employees are using a new phone concept in order to test it and figure out good and bad points.
Nothing more is said on the blog, but the internet is quick and the first image for the device has already appeared in a non-official way. The device should be manufactured by HTC and its design is very similar to the HTC Passion.
Now we just have to wait for Google to give more information on the phone.

Samsung presented their new mobile OS in London yesterday. The OS is called Bada, coming from the same Korean word that means “Ocean” and it should be featured on the next Samsung smartphones.
During the presentation, Samsung has presented the guidelines about the new mobile OS that should be available from the second half of next year. First of all, user interaction: starting from the basis, which means the User Interface, currently known as the TouchWiz, up to true interactions, such as vibration feedback, motion sensors, facial recognition, Flash usage and more.
Samsung Bada already has innate support to online services such as social networking, geolocation services, synchronization and others. All the main features are very interesting to developers, as an SDK has been released and all the presentation has been centered around developers, which according to Samsung, are the keypoint for the success of their platform.
In fact, Samsung started a contest to developers, called Bada Developer Challenge, which will give a total $2.700.000 in prizes. In order to take place on the Challenge, all it takes is submitting the applications for the new OS. More information can be found on the official website.
