LG seems to be hooked on one thing that has been hooking many cellphone companies lately: Android. The OS is definitely overwhelming the mobile telephony market thanks to its versatility and the freedom that it gives to the manufacturers to create applications and change the interface.
In LG’s case, they’ve launched their first Android device a few months ago, the LG GW620 and now there are rumors of a second device with Android and a hardware “surprise”. This new device, still without a name, will be first available for the Korean market, and then later on distributed in the rest of the world.
The big surprise on this device, that is rumored to be launched around the second quarter of 2010, is a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1GHz. The device might also allow users to watch TV from their phone.

Sony Ericsson has officially confirmed that the Xperia X1 device won’t have an OS upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5. The immediate reaction from customers didn’t take long to arrive: why not upgrade the OS on a device that is still well used and with a rather modern hardware?
The Xperia X1 has never really reached the expectations, but an update would at least make it a little better. Many users are still hoping on a possible change of mind.

It seems it will be a Google Experience phone if the number of times the name Google is mentioned in Samsung’s press-release. The phone will be released first in Europe, then in Asia.

While the Sony Ericsson X10 presentation is on the spotlight now, rumors about another Sony Ericsson device, featuring the Symbian S60 OS keep on coming. The device won’t be launched until 2010 and it should have a slightly curvy design, as the images above can show.
The rumors say that these pictures could possibly be from the Sony Ericsson Kurara (temporary name, it seems) and that the device will be part of the Entertainment Unlimited family. The phone should have a 3.5″ AMOLED display and a 8.1 megapixel photocamera. We’ll have to wait and see if the rumors are confirmed true.

If you were curious to know more about the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness, Mobileburn.com has released a video to cater to your needs. It’s an unboxing video that also shows a little demo of the cellphone. At a first glance, we weren’t incredibly impressed with the device. Some of the unique features on the cellphones are the transparent glass screen, a classical user interface and the non-removable battery.
The display has visibility problems in case of illuminated ambients but the backlights work great in dark ambients. The price should be around £530 ($830 dollars, more or less).
