Acer has officially announced the Liquid model, full touchscreen with Android. Many rumors have been read about this device for months, and now we can finally give some official information: according to what was announced, the Acer Liquid should be the most powerful Android device in the market.

However, Acer hasn’t released any official image of the cellphone, although the technical specifications were very clear: The Acer Liquid will have a Qualcomm 8250 Snapdragon 1Ghz CPU, the same used on the HTC HD2, Toshiba TG01 and the Acer neoTouch S200. The Android version will be the 1.6 (Donut) and it’ll feature a home-brew Acer UI pre-installed. The Acer Liquid will be the first Android cellphone to have a 3.5″ WVGA display.

It will also have the quad-band GSM support, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connection, HSUPA, Wi-Fi and GPS. It hasn’t been said clearly, but it’s likely it’ll also feature a 5 Megapixel photocamera, FM radio, slot for microSD and Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Now all we have to do is wait for official images and the price.

After many rumors and videos, LG has finally announced the LG GD510 Pop. This time it’s an official announcement, and together with it, arrived also the first official descriptions about the device, considered “eco-friendly”. The LG GD510 Pop is in fact an environmentally conscious phone, starting from the materials used, the production process and how the product should be disposed.

The packaging is made with recycled paper and soy ink. The battery charger completely cuts off the power supply once the device is completely charged, and the cellphone alerts the user to remove the charger. Pre-installed applications such as “Eco-tree” and “Eco-calculator”; placed on the “CO2″ menu, allow users to calculate how much CO2 emission they have prevented by doing their daily tasks, for example. But one of the most important features on this model is the optional solar-panel cover, that recharges the cellphone battery.

Ten minutes of sunlinght exposure will guarantee 2 minutes and 15 seconds of conversation and 180 minutes when in standby. For the more common features, the cellphone has a 3″ WQVGA touchscreen display, 3 Megapixel photocamera, bluetooth, microUSB slot and FM radio.

The LG GD510 will be available in Europe from this week on. The price will be market and region dependent.
