It’s very low quality, it doesn’t show much, but above you can see the first image for the new Samsung C5510. It’s a new slidephone from Samsung that has yet to be announced. Some of the first specifications include:

    - 2.2″ display with the resolution of 240×320 pixels and viewing more than 260.000 colors
    - Integrated FM radio
    - Multimedia player

Nothing really that astonishing for now. We’ll probably have to wait for the official announcement to get more details anyway.

The guys from Engadget managed to get their hands on a new BlackBerry Storm 2, which could mean that a June launch isn’t that absurd.

Known as “BlackBerry Odin”, the first noticeable thing about the Storm 2 is the lack of the SurePress clickable screen, replaced by a haptic feedback touchscreen. RIM’s choice is somewhat strange, due to the success of the clickable screen, but it could be simply a prototype. We’ll have to see once it launches.

In the meantime, the video hands-on is at the beginning of the post. Enjoy!

The manufacturing of “economic” cellphones continues, and one of the manufacturers to release a few numbers of these models is Samsung. This time, it’s the T239’s turn, which will be launched only in the USA for now.

    It’s a slidephone measuring 96 x 47.50 x 17mm and with a display that has a resolution of 177×220 pixels, with a modest VGA photocamera.

The rest of the technical specifications don’t reveal anything extraordinary, more common things such as bluetooth and a 10MB internal memory, which actually suit the economic market range.

It will be sold with T-Mobile for $59.99, without the need of a contract.

It measures 114 x 50 x 13.5mm, with a 2.2″ display that has the resolution of 176×220 pixels and viewing more than 260.000 colors. The photocamera has the modest resolution of 1.3 Megapixels.

It supports EDGE and GPRS connections, but the good part of this model is the battery duration: 7 hours in conversation and 300 hours in standby. The availability is only for the USA, for the price of $149,99 without contract and $14,99 with a 2-year contract.

It seems that after a failed initial launch date, there’s a new date established for the launching of the Palm Pre, the new Palm smartphone that is expected to be the turning point for the company.

In order to ease the hype around the product, the New York Times has published an article, citing that people “briefed on the company’s plans” have declared that the new launch date has been established in June. Quoting from the article:

“But the season’s most compelling phone drama will start the first week in June, when Sprint will begin selling the Palm Pre…”

True or not? Well, the New York Times is a valid newspaper, but we will wait for official confirmation in any case and label it as a rumor.
