The other buttons include the meny button, start/end call, photocamera and volume buttons. The screen features a 3″ display with 240×400 pixel resolution, with great contrast and brightness that make it easy to use even when directly under sunlight. The touchscreen sensibility during daily use is good, but not perfect; during applications and menu navigation, there’s no problem, but sometimes the SMS and text messages present some issues. Nothing too problematic, in any case.

As for the software, the main screen presents a widget structure with four buttons on the lower tab: calls, phonebook, messages and main menu. For those who wonder about the low resolution, it’s worth reminding that the main screen is a scroll-display: after dragging the preferred widgets and finishing with the editing phase, the splay can be scrolled vertically.

The LG Renoir KC910 is a touchscreen model from LG, with one of its big features being its 8 megapixel photocamera with auto-focus and flash. Starting from the materials and accessories, the KC910 comes with a rather good package: besides the battery recharger, stereo headphones and USB cable, there’s also an extension for the data cables and the TV composite cables.

The phone seems very sturdy and well assembled, although the front plastic cover is a little noisy sometimes. Besides that, the design and materials are very good, the keys are well-finished, the photocamera has a cover for the lens, the USB/recharger and microSD covers open easily and there’s also a dedicated key for locking the display.

Since the beginning of times, Gold has always been World’s more precious metal. Now, what comes out when a cellphone manufacturer decides to add it to one of its models?

Well, that’s what Gresso has achieved with their new Skeleton Gold model. Its keys are made with 18k Gold and the QVGA display is protected by a 42k Sapphire glass. The same Sapphire glass can also be found on its back, completely transparent and showing the internal components.

The rest of the features are the same as the normal Skeleton model, featuring Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard, multimedia player, 2 megapixel photocamera, 2GB internal memory and bluetooth. Only 50 units were made, and if you’re interested, you better have $4400 ready, because that’s how much it costs.

    Ouch, we say.

As an answer to HTC’s Touch Pro II, Acer has prepared the M900, a smartphone with touchscreen display and a lateral slide QWERTY keyboard. Amongst its features, a fingerprint sensor, 5.0 megapixel photocamera with flash and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Aimed for the business market, the M900 catches the attention from the start with its 3.8″ display with 800×480 pixels resolution. Despite being larger, it’s still slimmer than the Touch Pro 2 and it also features the Windows Mobile 6.1, although it’s compatible with the newest version of the OS, the 6.5. The processor works at a 533 Mhz frequency and its touchscreen interface is made by Asus. The rest of the features are the 128MB RAM (which could be a little more, in our opinion), a 256MB microSD card and a 1530 mAh battery.

Also featuring Wi-Fi, GPS SiRFstar III, HSDPA, bluetooth 2.0 and orientation sensor. Below are some images of the M900. Enjoy!

The video above shows a rather unique new user interface. The new “futuristic” 3D interface with variable depth, currently being developed by the TAT - The Astonishing Tribe team is rather interesting. Currently, it’s a concept of a new user interface for the latest mobile devices, and thanks to the new 3D Eyetracking UI, it’ll be possible to have interesting graphic effects according to the angle of the device and the eyes. All this would be possible thanks to dedicated graphic chips, motion sensors and photocameras.

The developers have released a video to show how the concept works. The team is also responsible for famous interfaces such as Kastor, and other projects can be found on their official website.

UnwiredView has published a very good video-preview of the Toshiba TG01, the new smartphone with the “famous” 1GHz processor, admired for its performance but criticized for the consequences of such performances on the battery duration.

For now, the T01 uses Windows Mobile 6.1, but it should be equipped with the 6.5 version by the time of its launch.

As we wait for the official launch, we leave you to the video-preview. Enjoy!

We have talked about the LG G910 a few years ago on the occasion of its presentation at the Mobile World Congress, together with some of the technical specifications that weren’t exactly that impressive.

Despite it all, the HSDPA support, the touchscreen and the unique type of product made the price go up to levels that aren’t really accessible to everyone. Orange will be the first one to sell it in Europe, and in fact, the price tag on it is of 1.144€ for the no-contract version.

Of course, with a 45€ monthly fee and a 2-year contract, users can get it for 570€ and a voice/data/sms package included on the monthly fee.

Worth it? We’ll leave it up to you.

After the Armani Night Effect “disco-phone”, it seems that Samsung is planning another Armani model, this time featuring the new Windows Mobile 6.5.

There are no technical specifications or more images, but the new Samsung Armani should be launched this autumn. All we can do is wait for more details, especially on the price and check whether an Armani-labeled phone will have success, due to the scarse sales of their predecessors.

The default applications installed are the classic ones dedicated to email, messages and PIM (with calendar and phonebook perfectly integrated with the email and easy to use), together with the web applications and multimedia. Despite the smaller display size when compared to the Storm, the web navigation is excellent, due to the good display resolution.

The presence of a physical QWERTY keyboard also gives and advantage to many applications, allowing users to use, for example, the feature “find as you type”, which makes a research in real time in emails and contacts while typing.

As for the series’ standard, the side keys are dedicated to the handsfree (it’s possible to reassign them to another application), volume controls and photocamera, the 3.5 jack for the headphones and the microUSB connection for data synchronization and battery recharge.

The quality of the materials seem rather good, although inferior than the Storm, and also the battery cover is made in plastic. The QWERTY keyboard is comfortable even for bigger fingers with almost no mistakes when typing.
